I tried out a class at my gym today. It’s the first one I’ve tried in ages. I decided on this one becase a) it was always packed b) had > 1 token guy in it c) it actually used a barbell (of sorts).
The class itself was fine. More on the muscle endurance side of weights, which is fine. Not really a good mesh for my main goal of muscle size and peak power, but a good change of pace.
The music at this chain of gyms (GoodLife) is all centrally/corporate programmed. The instructor was obviously not into the tunes. In fact, I wonder if he was smoking a joint or two in his car prior to the class. He was a good instructor, he just was seemed to be way into his own zone.
Hell, I’d probably have to be high and zen-ed out if I had to do lead a class.
